EIGHT-year-old cyclist Joseph Tipping will be pedalling 25 miles this weekend - raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support
The youngster, from Ullenhall, is hoping to raise £500 by taking part in the MacRide on Sunday (September 12).
Last year Joseph and his dad Mike completed the ten mile course.
Despite getting lost along the way and cycling two miles more than required, the pair raised over £300 for the cancer charity.
Now the father and son team are getting back in the saddle and will be completing a circuit which is more than twice the distance.
Joseph said: “I wanted to do MacRide because I’m good at cycling and Macmillan is a very good charity.”
Proud dad Mike said: “We ride regularly but ten miles is the furthest he’s ridden so far, so 25 miles will be a real challenge.
“Last year he took the fund raising and the ride in his stride. Afterwards I joked that we would enter the 25 mile event this year but I don’t think he saw it as a joke!”
The 25 mile route starts at Bishopton’s park and ride, and passes through Little Alne, Great Alne, Welford and the Greenaway. Cyclists cross the finish line back at the park and ride.
