Solihull has signalled the start of the Christmas season with lots of events panned for borough shoppers.
On Saturday, December 3, from 11am the sound of carols will fill the air as the famous Shirley Brass Band take to the streets. Established in 1919, the 25 piece band will play favourites such as Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and Away In A Manger, in a not-to-be-missed free festive concert.
The festivities continue on Sunday, December 4 from midday until 3pm, when local band Strumpet Jazz will be on hand to play a host of toe-tapping Christmas classics.
There will also be more carol singing on Thursday, December, 8 from 6-8pm, when singers from Animal Aid descend on the town for their annual sing-a-long. The charity, which was founded in 1992 by Ursula Bates, relies on its annual Christmas carol fund raiser to supply much needed funds for the year ahead.
On Friday, December 9 from midday until 2pm, Marie Curie's very own barber shop quartet The Belles will be performing some seasonal songs with a slightly retro twist - all in Mell Square.
