Silhill 5, Cresconians 1
THE revival in Silhill 1st team’s fortunes continued at Sharmans Cross Road when they hosted Cresconians in the Birmingham & District AFA Premier.
Joe Constable and Lee Powell both scored twice, with super sub James Davis forcing an own goal by a desperate defender to bring victory.
All afternoon the Oldbury outfit tried yet failed to get near to man-of-the-match Constable.
In the unlucky 13th minute for Crescs, Constable lifted the ball over a rooted visiting goalie. Two nil followed barely eight minutes later, when Powell sliced through the Black Countrymen’s defence before hammering home.
From there on Sils were in control.
Meanwhile in the AFA London Junior Cup, Silhill Seconds were unlucky to go down 4-0 away at West Wickham after the homeside took an early first half lead against the run of play.
