Earlswood Town 0 Brocton 3
WITH Earlswood Town holding a mid-table position in the Premier Division of the Midland Combination, manager Paul Smith decided to give four of the youth team players, who finished runners up in the Midland Floodlit Youth League, a run out.
Earls were first on the attack and Django Farrell and Josh McGinley both tested the visitor’s keeper in the first five minutes. But then Brocton put on a spell of pressure and on 18 minutes Earl’s keeper Josh Gandy pushed the ball out into the path of Dan Lomas who hit it hard and low into the net.
The striker added a second six minutes later and Gary Fife added a third seven minutes from half time.
Earls brought on two more youth team players for the start of the second half and the whole team lifted their game.
In the end it was a very good work-out for the Earlswood youngsters but Brocton were well worth their victory.
On Saturday Earls face Pelsall Villa at home, kick off 3pm.
