'A day I will never forget'

TEN budding Freddie Flintoffs at a Chelmsley Wood school received an early Christmas present when they got to play with a host of cricketing stars.

Youngsters from St. Anne’s RC Primary School joined a group of 40 young cricketers from across the UK for a coaching master class at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

With England stars Owais Shah, Mark Butcher and Graham Thorpe in attendance, it was all part of the npower Urban Cricket initiative.

Meghan Kelly, aged 11 and from Chelmsley Wood, said: “Graham gave me some tips on how to hit the ball hard. It’s all about timing. This is a day I’ll never forget.”
