SOLIHULL Arden have won an England Squash competition to find the best club in the region. Arden now goes through with the other regional finalists for the UK title.
Meanwhile, Steve Ayling has clinched the Open Squash Championships at the ‘West Midlands Squash Club of 2012’ for the third year running.
Twice he has beaten the club’s head coach, Andy Warmington but this year’s opponent was young and hungry, Brian Harvey, highly ranked at regional and national Under 17 level.
Harvey took the first game 11-7 but Ayling levelled only to lose the third match 11-5.
However, the champion got a good lead in the fourth game to level again at 11-9.
Ayling turned on the style in the decider, defeating his opponent 11-5 bringing down cheers for both players.
