Solihull's Matt Clinton takes no risks - and still finishes third

BALSALL Common’s Matt Clinton took to his bike in the atrocious weather of last Sunday in a bid to defend his 36-mile Beacon RCC Little Mountain Time Trial title.

However Clinton, who rides for Mike Vaughan Cycles, admitted the cold and wet got to him and, taking no risks, still rolled in third in 1:52, seven minutes behind the winner, Dean Robson of Somerset RC who finished in 1:45. Danny Axford of Arctic-SRAM Racing Team was second in 1:51.
