It was another day of disappointment for Berkswell when they were unable to turn a potentially match winning position to their advantage following a final eight over battering by the Shrewsbury middle order batsmen.
A disappointed skipper Dominic Ostler said: “At one stage when we had them at 160 with only a few overs left I thought a total of 220 would be attainable, but we bowled badly at the death and that made all the difference.
“We had a good go at getting the runs but it proved to be just a bridge too far and we needed to shut up shop to avoid another defeat.
“The league table show four sides below us and we still have to play three of them so it is all still to play for.
“If we get a maximum 20 points next week at home against Wolverhampton that will relieve some of the pressure on us and ease us away from the relegation zone.”
