BERKSWELL batsman Freddie Klokker was named player of the month for July after a string of impressive displays for his promotion-chasing side.

Klokker recently broke into the Derbyshire county team and became the first Danish player to score a county century when he smashed 103 past Warwickshire.

The highlight of the month came on July 5, when the 25-year-old hit an unbeaten 145 off 130 balls as Berskwell hammered Tamworth by eight wickets.

Currently, the Meeting House Lane side sit in second place of the Birmingham & District Premier Cricket League Division Two.

They will be hoping Klokker continues his fine form as the season comes to a close.
