Centuries by Alex Phillips and David Hemp helped K&D to a fine victory over a strong Kidderminster Victoria at Station Road.
Kidderminster won the toss and put David Smith’s side in on a good batting wicket. Knowle and Dorridge made good early progress but lost two early wickets bringing Hemp to the crease to join Phillips for what was to become 240 run partnership for the third wicket.
The pair produced a controlled and at times explosive display of batting with league debutant Phillips( 145) and ex-Glamorgan captain Hemp 100 n/o making the most of the sunshine and appreciative crowd.
Knowle and Dorridge finished on 292 for the loss of two wickets - and a number of balls that cleared boundaries into nearby gardens!
In reply the Kidderminster openers Wood and Kimberlin started positively reaching 40 for no wicket. Neil Coley then dismissed Craig Wood, bringing 18-year-old Zak Turley in for what was to be a measured and mature 96 before falling to the irrepressible Chris Davidson who claimed 4 for 25.
Good support bowling from Jack Grundy and Ben Coley allowed K&D’s fielding to suppress the middle order and the remaining wickets were taken with five overs to spare leaving Kidderminster 236 all out.
On Saturday K&D 1st XI travel to Womborne.
