Sam Cheshire smashed a boundary-laden 96 not out as Barnt Green eased to a seven-wicket win over Dorridge in the Birmingham League Premier Division.
Skipper Andy Sutton struck a couple of early blows with the ball before Warwickshire leg-spinner Josh Poysden got to work. Poysden was almost unplayable as he claimed five for 12 from 7.5 tantalising overs.
Only Mo Ishtiaq (60) could make any impression with the bat for Dorridge, who were dismissed for 136.
Cheshire then struck 14 fours and four sixes as the Green raced to a winning 142 for three from just 20 overs.
Aussie seam bowler Alex Keath was another man in form. He snapped up matchwinning figures of six for 19 off 8.1 overs to give Knowle and Dorridge a three-wicket win over Berkswell.
Former Warwickshire favourite and Berkswell skipper Dominic Ostler led from the front by scoring a timely 62. But Chris Whittock (14) was the only other Berkswell batsman to reach double figures as they were bowled out for 107.
Knowle and Dorridge didn’t have matters all their own way in reply, however. Although David Myers made 53, the remaining batsmen soon perished as the Station Road side slumped to 77 for seven.
An unbeaten eighth-wicket partnership between Ben Brookes (20 not out) and Will Mottram (12 not out) saw Knowle and Dorridge home on 110 for seven.
* Walmley were five-wicket winners over Kenilworth Wardens.
Strike bowler Shozair Ali removed Wardens’ opener Keith Bell first ball before long-serving overseas player Sitansu Kotak steadied the innings with 80.
He helped take Wardens to 204 all out before being upstaged by Walmley’s Tom Burton, who hit 82 with the bat.
