Earlswood Town took all three points at Kenilworth with two late goals in this Division 2 Midland League mid-week encounter.
In a game controlled by the wind, the home side were on top for the first ten minutes.
Earls’ first chance came after 12 minutes when an Alex Knight centre was hit over the bar by Jovan Blake-Walker.
Kenilworth were on top for most of the half but Earls created chances and they came near to scoring after 30 minutes when a Ron Adjei shot hit Blake-Walker and went out for a goal kick.
The home team found the net first when leading scorer Shawn Sproul turned on the edge of the penalty area and hit a shot that went into the net via the underside of the crossbar.
Earlswood went for an equaliser and were awarded a free-kick just outside the Kenilworth penalty area after 43 minutes but Ron Adjei’s effort went just over the bar.
With the wind behind them, Earls went out for an equaliser and a long-range effort from Simon Volante was just tipped on to the bar. Earlswood had to be careful with the hosts’ counter attacks. But it came as no surprise when they equalised in the 65th minute. Blake-Walker was put through and, after beating a defender, put the ball just inside the post.
Kenilworth came close to taking the lead after 70 minutes when they hit the underside of the bar and Adam Wormall scrambled the ball off the line.
Earls pushed hard for the winner and the home keeper did well to save a Blake-Walker effort.
But they left it until the 84th minute to take the lead after a mix-up in the Kenilworth area, Adjei latching on to a loose ball and hitting it home.
In the 88th minute Volante put Earls striker Josh Allen-Noble through and, as he took the ball round the Kenilworth keeper, he was brought down in the area. Allen-Noble got up to take the kick himself and sealed the points.
