Defences and goalkeepers were firmly on top as Earlswood Town and Paget Rangers battled out a stalemate.
The first chance came after only three minutes when Hancock was called on to push the ball away after an early raid on his goal and three minutes later Paget showed their intent with a shot that was wide of Hancock’s right hand post.
In the 23rd minute, Gareth Davies laid on a lovely cross to Zack Lyons who timed his run very well but shot into the arms of Pete McGuire. Two minutes later a loose ball was picked up by Paget but their attacker shot over the bar.
Paget won a free kick in the second minute of the second half and Hancock was called on to make a fine save at full stretch to his right. Hancock found Gareth Davies who powered forward but shot wide in the 50th minute.
With legs tiring Earlswood replaced Zack Lyons with Roy Dunkley after 80 minutes. In the dying minutes Keith Draper played in Jovan Blake-Walker who got into a good position but was upended and the resultant free kick came to nothing. The play went to the other end and Paget had a free kick which was dealt with by the Earlswood defence and that was the final action of the game.
Earlswood are at home to Knowle on Saturday, KO 3pm.
