Grant Harrison was the last gasp hero for Knowle with a 97th-minute equaliser.
This match was a typical derby with Earlswood’s Glades and Knowle providing a thriller. Injury-hit Knowle started in style and could have been in front in the first minute when Nick Oakley threaded a great through ball to Tom Craine who outpaced his marker and hit a thunderous shot against the crossbar.
Top scorer Matt Botley then showed real poise and skill as he plucked the ball out of the air and brought a terrific save from the home keeper. Then Botley opened the scoring for Knowle when he ran across his marker and sidefooted neatly into the corner.
Almost from the kick off Foyle headed a cross towards the top corner only to see the keeper tip the ball over. Right on half-time, Knowle keeper Tim Gordon turned an excellent effort from Campbell round the post but it had been Knowle’s half for sure.
The second half was a much more even affair with Glades coming back strongly but, early in the half, things boiled over and two players were sent off, one from each side. With the balance of possession shifting more to Glades, they equalised in the 83rd minute from a hotly disputed free kick. At this point Knowle would have settled for a point but Glades had other ideas. In the 94th minute Glades crashed home their second but Harrison had the final say.
Next Saturday Knowle are at home to Bartley Green in the Birmingham Vase, 3pm k/o.
