EARLS enjoyed an emphatic victory over Atherstone Town, with Charisma Agbonlahor helping himself to a well taken hat-trick.
The elder brother of Aston Villa ace, Gabriel, hit home a treble along with a hat-trick scored in five minutes by skipper Sam Wells. Earlswood were first on the attack and forced two quick corners but after this play was very even.
The visitors went ahead after 32 minutes when Ashley Wilkes beat Earl’s keeper Neil Leech with a well-placed shot.
But this was quickly cancelled out by two quick goals from Agbonlahor after 35 and 38 minutes the second a hard shot into the corner of the net.
Six minutes into the second half Atherstone set up a chance to equalise but the final shot was hit high over the bar. But this was the nearest they got as Earls playing some attractive football took the game by the scruff of the neck and Sam Wills exploited the visitors defence and scored after 67 minutes with a deft chip over the visitor’s keeper O’Neil.
Earls were firing on all cylinders and it came as no surprise when Earls leading scorer Wills quickly added two more goals in the 70th and 72nd minutes.
With a 5-1 lead Earlswood, Agbonlahor completed his hat-trick after 75 minutes with a low shot into the net.
