IT was heartbreak for Earlswood Town as they were defeated in extra time by Alvechurch in the F.A. Vase Preliminary Round.
The match started at a frenetic pace, with each side coming close early on and it was the away team who made the first breakthrough, heading home from a free kick on 11 minutes.
After the break it was Earlswood who started quicker. They equalised through Andy Rowe and at this stage the hosts were dictating the tempo, and it came as no surprise when they went ahead on the hour mark.
From an indirect free-kick, the ball was played to Wills who then lifted the ball accurately over the wall and into the net. The score remained 2-1 until 90 minutes, when there were five minutes of injury time.
Alvechurch snatched an equaliser at the death then slotted three goals in six minutes in extra time to win the tie.
