Silhill first team’s efforts to avoid relegation received a hammer blow after back-to-back defeats against Old Wulfs and Village in the AFA premiership.
In their first match Silhill had only themselves to blame, with two lapses in concentration costing them the points against Old Wulfs.
First Sils ’keeper Howard Yates punched into his own net under pressure, then the Silhill defenders were caught napping, allowing a simple OW break to secure the points for the visitors.
Their second game against Village 1sts was much of the same for the Solihull side – four minutes in Silhill were again caught out, giving Village too much space, and they netted what proved to be the winner. The result leaves them fourth from bottom after a disappointing week.
Silhill 2nds didn’t fare any better either, they were on the end of a 6-1 thrashing to Britannia Old Boys in a poor performance, leaving them second from bottom in the Birmingham and District AFA League 2.
