NEEDING a win to make certain of avoiding relegation, Highgate came from behind to secure a point against fellow strugglers Heather St John.

Their fight against the drop now goes to the last game of the season at Coleshill Town tomorrow, while whatever Gate’s result fellow relegation candidates Atherstone Town have to win away at Westfields.

With Ellesmere Rangers beating Stratford it’s a straight duel between them.

Both teams looked nervous, but it was Gate who showed more spirit after finding themselves two goals in arrears by the 47th minute.

Manager, Keith Checketts, then threw on substitutes Nathan Edgington and Liam Florey, Edgington playing a neat 64th minute one-two with Steve Jackson to make it 2-1. Five minutes later Florey lobbed the goalkeeper for the equaliser from the edge of the box.

At the other end Shawn Edwards ensured his team finished level with two late great saves.
