SOLIHULL Moors hope to get their season back on track this weekend after a disappointing start with four losses in four games.
In a crunch bank holiday double bill they play Vauxhall Motors away (KO 3pm) then Histon at home (KO 3pm).
They’ll be keen to forget the experience of last Saturday at Damson Park when visitors Guiseley went home with all three points after an injury time goal from Ciaran Toner.
Then on Tuesday night in another Blue Square North fixture they again lost 1-0 to Bishops Stortford,.
In a bad first-half on Saturday, Solihull held their own. Sam Adkins took two good corners, sent over a couple of good crosses and had a shot blocked.
In the second half Guisley out-played Solihull, with Toner’s goal coming three minutes into added time.
Moors manager Marcus Bignot said: “It’s been a disappointing start to the season.
“It’s a big bank holiday coming up with two games in three days. We really need to get points on the board.
“The positive news is we’re getting players back, Dominic Landon, who hasn’t been available, and Simon Johnston will be back on Monday after a three match suspension.
“They’ll be joining with new recruits Michael Blackwood and Luke Batimore.
“We haven’t been able to have a stable back four or five. We haven’t had the continuity in these first four games and had players playing out of position.
“Coming up to this weekend we are getting influential players back.
“The squad we have assembled is very good. You’re not always going to have all your players available, but I struggled to name 16 in the first four games.
“Hopefully we can get some continuity. The fans have been superb and big thanks to them.
“I know it ruins their weekend if we lose, so hopefully we can start winning some matches.”
