FOOTBALL is a very harsh game with many imponderables, and last month’s world-beating team can - for no obvious reasons - become this month’s cannon fodder. And so it was on Saturday that unbeaten Crusaders, newly promoted from Division 1, blitzed an unusually tentative and vulnerable Silhill defence in the AFA Premier.

This was despite the hard work of centre half Karl Rogerson and striker Ross Jackson who bagged Sils’ consolation goal just before half time for 5-1.

Crusaders were ahead after just 11 minutes, Sils’ defence looking unusually sluggish for the full 90.

On Saturday they’ll be looking to get their wagon back on track in their AFA Senior Cup replay against Small Heath Tigers who took them to 6-6 in the last fixture.
