EARLSWOOD made it ten points out of 12 in their last four Combination Premier games, coming from behind to win at Sheepy Road.

In what turned out to be a rather scrappy affair, Atherstone took the lead against the run of play after just seven minutes.

Their lead was short lived however, as five minutes later a corner from Sam Wills flew into the net off the head of an Atherstone defender.

The first half ended 1-1 and Earlswood manager Paul Smith stuck with the team that had been on top in the first 45 minutes. after creating a number of chances Earls took the lead through Charisma Aboglahor, who tucked in the rebound of Wills’ parried shot.

Atherstone had a man sent off for a second yellow card after 80 minutes, and before long ten men had become nine after a second red card was issued for handling on the goal line.

Abonlahor took the penalty kick only to see his effort fly over the crossbar, but Earls were in control of the game and were content to play out the remaining few minutes.

Earlswood Town play Bromsgrove Sporting at home in a top of the table clash on Saturday.
