Earlswood Town ended their Midland Combination Premier season on a high beating local rivals Blackwood 4-0 at home and securing third spot in the league

Earlswood Town ended their Midland Combination Premier season on a high beating local rivals Blackwood 4-0 at home and securing third spot in the league.

Goals from Sam Wills and Nick Briggs gave Earls an emphatic victory with them winning nine and drawing two of their last 11 league games.

Earls took the lead when top scorer Wills went round a defender in the 18th minute and hit a low shot into the net. On 27 minutes Briggs’s looping header found the net and then, three minutes into first half stoppage time, Briggs got his second.

Wills made it four after 62 minutes when he hit the ball home from a Briggs corner.

The three points put Earls in third spot in the league, their highest league finish to date.

On Friday, May 17, Earlswood Town Youth can clinch the Central Division championship when they play Atherstone Town Youth at Studley.
