RAMPANT Moors beat Bishop’s Stortford 3-1 to continue their good form in the Blue Square North.

Solihull have won all four of their last league games and goals from Richard Walker and Junior English gave the hosts a comfortable 2-0 lead going into half time on Saturday.

Solihull weathered a minor storm early in the first half, but on 67 minutes Michael Blackwood’s neat one-two with Lee Morris gave Solihull a 3-0 lead on 67 minutes.

Moors took their foot off the gas and there was a spate of bookings, including a sending off for Bishop’s Stortford’s Scott Shulton.

Solihull’s Stuart Pierpiont got a yellow card for a foul in the box, which Dwight Gayle scored from the penalty spot to make it 3-1.

Bignot said: “We’ve had a nice return from these games.

“It’s down to a collective effort. We’re getting stronger as a group. That’s filtered into the results.”

On Wednesday night Moors played FC Halifax Town.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” Bignot said. “They are riding high after their result on Sunday (Halifax lost 0-4 to Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup).

“It’s going to be a close game. This is non-league football, the players have got work all day then they make the trek up north.

“Midweek games are difficult for non-league players, hopefully we don’t have the ill effects from that and return with the right result.”

On Saturday Moors host Droylsden at Damson Park, KO 3pm.

“These are two games that we can hopefully get a nice result from, that will set us up nicely for the FA Trophy game at Ossett Town,” Bignot said.
