HIGHGATE got back to winning ways with a crucial and well deserved win - the three points lifting them above Malvern Town to a far more comfortable 18th place.

WESTFIELDS side took advantage of some sloppy defending immediately after the break with two quick goals. Although Tyrone Douglas went on to reduce the arrears, it was the visitors who went home with the points.

SHIRLEY came out top in this local derby after Richard Liernahan’s hatrick helped to sink the Sils.

AFTER 20 minutes at Sharmans Cross Road, Silhill captain David Icke crossed inch-perfect from the right, for Alistair Campbell to volley the opener. A breakaway by Warriors saw a cross from the Silhill right, enabling their centre back to shoot in the equaliser. Late in the game Sils were caught in possession allowing the visitors to snatch the winner.

SHIRLEY opened the scoring within 15 minutes through a goal from Anthony Davies, only to see Wake equalise through Gez McGuiness. Extra time saw Wake Green’s centre half put the home side ahead. Yet straight from the kick off Anthony Lander levelled for Shirley.
