HIGHGATE halted a run of defeats by recording their first double of the season with what turned out to be a far more comfortable win than the scoreline suggests.

The hosts spoiled what should have been a clean sheet for the visitors with a goal deep into second half stoppage time.

Gate’s scorers were Seb Hamilton and Jim Welnitschuk.

ARCHDALES took the lead with a 40th minute penalty in an even first half.

But two late goals in the final five minutes saw the home team steal the three points. Ben Judd slotted away the penalty and Andy Nicol grabbed the winner.

Silhill 1 - 4 Boldmere Sports & Social

TWO goals by Boldmere striker Paul Tivnan, followed by a brace from their centre midfielder Ross Clarke, gave the visitors an unassailable 4-0 lead by the 35th minute. A better second half from Silhill saw them score through Curtis Karim and keep a clean sheet.

Wake Green AFC 3 - 1 Silhill

CURTIS Karim gave Silhill their only goal joy on an evening to forget at local rivals Wake Green. Steve Bramley netted Wake Green’s first, with new signing Capedia making no mistake for their second and third in a 3-1 win.

Shirley Athletic 1 - 7 Handsworth GSOB

DESPITE being level at 1-1 after 20 minutes, a poor defensive display from Shirley saw them ship seven goals. Kevin Montague got Shirley’s solitary goal.
