HIGHGATE United were shot down in flames this week when despatched 5-1 at home to Dunkirk in the Midland Alliance.
Nottingham side Dunkirk netted first half goals through Anthony Gregory and Dan Elliott to lead 2-0 at the break.
Highgate hit back three minutes into the second half through an own goal from Rob McCormick but Dunkirk soon reassumed control when Jarrod Westcarr made it 3-1 on 53 minutes.
Late goals from Jordan Alls and Darren Garmston sealed Highgate’s fate and leaves them hovering just above the drop zone.
Highgate have no fixture on Saturday but host Studley at Tythe Barn Lane next Wednesday in the Polymac Services League Cup.
