Highgate’s headache

HIGHGATE United manager Marcus McDonald faces the ‘headache’ of playing three games a week until the end of the season after waterlogged pitches put paid to three games in under a week.

HIGHGATE United manager Marcus McDonald faces the ‘headache’ of playing three games a week until the end of the season after waterlogged pitches put paid to three games in under a week.

Highgate now face an end of season fixture pile up after Bank Holiday Monday’s visit to Stratford Town fell victim to heavy overnight rain. Last week’s scheduled games at Tythe Barn Lane against Kirby Muxloe on Tuesday evening and Saturday’s visit of Coventry Sphinx were also postponed. This leaves Gate with just four weeks to fit in their remaining ten games before the season ends on May 1.

* On Saturday Highgate visit leaders Barwell (3pm) and on Tuesday evening travel to Studley (7.45pm).
