Dynamos 3 Redwood 1

HOCKLEY Heath Dynamos and Redwood faced their last showdown of the season when they battled it out for the Len Ward Trophy on Sunday.

The two South Birmingham League teams had already contested the Jeff Hall Shield with Hockley taking the honours and Redwood just pipped Dynamos to the league title in the last game of the season.

The sides were fairly evenly matched in the first half but it was Redwood who broke the deadlock a minute before the half time whistle with Leon English stepping up to convert a penalty.

However it was Dynamos who came out fighting in the second half with Brad Rees levelling up the scoreline on 50 minutes.

Five minutes later Tom Rippington added a second for Hockley with Chris Allsop making it three on 65 minutes.

There was no coming back for Redwood after that and it was Dynamos who led the celebrations at Solihull Moors’ ground for the second time this season.
