SILHILL footballers celebrated their successful season in style at the weekend with their annual Gala Awards.

Silhill teams won both the Birmingham County Junior Cup and the AFA Roger Holder Cup last season.

First team forward Curtis Karim picked up the coveted footballer of the year award, as well as the golden boot for scoring the most goals (27).

Young player of the year was named as rising star Simon Graham, while the Stuart Hudson Memorial Trophy - presented for the first time by Stuart’s father Mick - went to club stalwart Mark Pigott.

Silhill’s most improved player was named as Steve Smith, while team motivator of the season was Steve Powell, and Jamie Rathbone picked up best newcomer.
