Knowle facing relegation dogfight after latest defeat

KNOWLE are struggling to get going in the Midland Combination Premier League after picking up just two wins out of their opening 14 games.

With over a third of the season already over, the Robins' form is concerning and unless they start picking up points fast, they could find themselves dragged into a relegation dogfight.

A win at the Beehive tomorrow against Bolehall Swifts would move them to within a point of their Tamworth opponents.

Last week a first-half blitz from Cadbury Athletic condemned Knowle to their eighth league defeat of the season.

The Robins got off to a disastrous start when early goals from Adam Ainge and Dan Bulmer put the hosts in control.

Greg Ellard increased Cadbury's lead after 25 minutes and Kieron Bennett's strike just before half time effectively wrapped up the game.

Knowle turned things around in the second half and were by far the better side, but they had only a late consolation goal from James Anderson to show for their efforts.
