Hockley Heath Dynamos 3 Lyndon 3 AET Lyndon won 3-2 on penalties
THERE was a real sense of deja vu in the air on Sunday when Hockley Heath Dynamos and Lyndon met for the second week running and found themselves in a penalty shoot out again.
The teams were battling it out for the Jeff Hall Trophy at Damson Park after Dynamos had taken the silverware back to Hockley Heath last weekend after an identical scoreline after extra time in the Len Ward Cup.
However, this week the celebrations belonged to Lyndon after they netted three penalties to Dynamos two.
Tom Rippington had taken Hockley into an early lead after two minutes before Andrew Sadler squared things up ten minutes later.
But Hockley bounced back immediately after Bradley Reece found the net to take Hockley into halftime with the upper hand.
The scoreline stayed that way until five minutes before time when Daniel Tomkins grabbed a late equaliser as Hockley had done the previous week.
Tomkins put Lyndon in the driving seat in the last minute of the first half of extra time before Reece got his second a few minutes into the second period to make it 3 - 3 after extra time.
The nerves were showing as the sides lined up for penalties again and this week it was Hockley who missed first with Lyndon managing to put away three of theirs to clinch victory and sweet revenge from the penalty spot.
