Hyde 1 Solihull Moors 2 Solihull Moors 2 Droylsden 2
Following victories over Redditch United and Gloucester City, Solihull Moors took a third successive win with Saturday’s hard-fought 2-1 result at Hyde FC.
A first-half goal from Adam Cunnington and a second-half strike from Ryan Beswick put the visitors in a comfortable position, but a 75th minute goal from Rob Turner for Hyde made it a nervy ending for the Moors.
Meanwhile a third-minute red card for Adam Cunnington led to a frustrating Tuesday night draw at Damson Park. “We spent nearly 90 minutes with 10 men,” said assistant manager Mickey Moore, “but to be fair we got back in front by half-time.
“To have conceded again was disappointing, but really it’s a point gained rather than two lost.”
Droylsden’s Kilheen scored after ten minutes, but Joel Grandison and Ryan Beswick sent the Moors into half-time 2-1 up.
The home side created many second-half chances, but squandered them. Banim’s 83rd-minute equaliser meant Moors had to share the points this time.
On Saturday Moors travel to Gainsborough Trinity for a Blue Square Bet North fixture (ko 3pm). The next game at Damson Park is on Tuesday, January 25 in the Blue Square Bet North against Vauxhall Motors (ko, 7:45pm).
Supporters buying advance tickets for the Vauxhall Motors game on January 25 will also receive free admission to the following Saturday’s match against Harrogate Town, giving the chance to see two matches for £10 (concessions £5). Tickets will be on sale until Monday, January 24 at Damson Park between 10am and 8pm.
Moors have also swooped to capture Nick Green from Blue Square Bet Premier Division club Kettering Town.
Green, a versatile defender/midfield player, impressed Moors with his performances against them in the FA Cup for Barwell earlier in the season. He is reunited with ex-Barwell team-mate Adam Cunnington.
