SILHILL had majestic marksman David Johnson to thank on Saturday as he hammered in four second half goals to give his side a whopping 7-3 win.
Before the weekend Shirley were unbeaten in four league outings and goal-shy Silhill had the lowest scoring tally in the division.
But form went out the window as the visitors to Lugtrout Lane were victorious in this entertaining ten-goal thriller.
Matt Foster opened the scoring for Silhill after just four minutes but Richard Collins put through his own net to level the scores.
Collins was the villain again minutes later when he brought down Ben Ince in the penalty area and the Shirley midfielder converted from the spot.
Justin Perry and Alec Brotherton scored next for Silhill who re-gained the lead but Ince fired in his second spot-kick of the day to equalise once more for Shirley.
However there was no stopping Silhill when man-of-the-match Johnson found his shooting boots with time ticking away.
The striker went on the rampage to smash four quick-fire goals past the hosts and give Silhill an important win.
Silhill entertain Cresconians at Sharman's Cross Road tomorrow while Shirley travel to Sutton United.
