Shirley Athletic pay the price for poor finishing

St Francis 2

St Francis 2

Shirley Athletic 3

A BARE 11 came through this AFA Premiership match with a very good team performance with returning man-of-the-match Scott Kite key.

Both teams started brightly, and it was St Francis who had the better of the early chances.

However a goalmouth scramble saw Nick Williams give Shirley the lead, soon to be doubled through James Evans.

Then Shirley had a mad 10 minutes, wathing as they gifted St Francis a goal.

Within moments of this, the home side were on level terms and playing with renewed vigour.

Shirley finally bagged the winner with 10mins to go. Nick Williams had only the keeper to beat but put it straight at him then James Evans had a bite, before Scott Kite found the net is for a much needed win.
