TOP Birmingham AFA side Boldmere Sports left Sharmans Cross Road empty handed after three wonderful goals guided Silhill to a comfortable victory.

Jamie May, Ross Jackson and captain Darren Lea all found the net to give the home team the three points with Anthony Lynch netting late for the visitors.

Silhill opened the scoring after just ten minutes of play, May hitting a screamer from almost 40 yards which dipped and swerved leaving the Boldmere goalkeeper rooted to the spot.

Just after the hour mark, after great passing play, Lee Powell sent Jackson through. He dribbled round one defender leaving him on the floor before dinking the ball over the onrushing keeper from an acute angle to put Sils 2-0 up.

The home team’s lead was comfortable and it was made even more so with a third goal in the dying minutes, skipper Lea scoring a 20-yard drive, Tom Sutheran the provider.

The Sutton side did manage to get themselves on the scoresheet just moments later. Centre half Lynch forcing the ball into the net from a corner, although the result was never in doubt at that point.

Silhill next play Wake Green at home in the AFA Premier, kick off 2pm.
