SOLIHULL Moors are all set for the start of the new season having won eight of their nine warm-up matches - the only loss coming against a Birmingham City XI.
Last Saturday they beat Stourbridge 1-0, a solitary goal from half time substitute Joel Grandison being the difference between the two sides.
Manager Marcus Bignot must have been delighted with the right winger’s impact after the sides battled out a mundane first half. However it was Stourbridge who created the better chances in the first 45 minutes and Sean Geddes gave Jas Singh an early test when he drilled a shot straight into the keeper’s hand.
After 58 minutes, the deadlock was broken, Grandison taking a touch inside and squeezing his shot into the bottom corner.
Earlier in the week, Solihull had beaten West Bromwich Albion Youth 3-2 at their Damson Lane Autotech Stadium.
Solihull play Guiseley away from home in the league this Saturday, kick off 3pm.
