Star striker could sit the game out

JAKE Edwards’ return to the Moors line-up is a massive boost to their survival chances but boss Bob Faulkner hinted that he may need a rest tomorrow.

JAKE Edwards’ return to the Moors line-up is a massive boost to their survival chances but boss Bob Faulkner hinted that he may need a rest tomorrow.

The experienced 32-year-old showed flashes of brilliance on Saturday and his performance was backed up with a goal on Tuesday night.

Moors ten-goal hitman returned to the action a month ago after recovering from an ankle injury and his presence has helped build a three-game unbeaten run.

The former Burton Albion forward has had no fewer than EIGHT strike partners this season and the long-serving boss is happy with his performances.

But despite a string of impressive displays Faulkner is hoping he isn’t asking too much from Edwards.

“I’m really pleased with Jake since his return, he’s done well for us.

“He’s a threat, but he’s played three games in eight days now and it will take it’s toll.

“We’ve got to be careful with him.”
