CONFERENCE North club Solihull Moors have secured a string of attractive pre-season friendly fixtures at their Damson Park ground, kicking off with a visit from Conference Premier neighbours Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday, July 13 at 7.30pm.
The following Saturday, July 17, Moors play host to Championship side Doncaster at 3pm.
League Two outfit and former Conference rivals Burton Albion visit Damson Park on Tuesday, July 27, again at 7.30pm while Championship side Derby County are the visitors on Friday, July 30 at 7.30pm.
Moors round off their pre-season programme with a mouth watering visit from Birmingham City on Wednesday August 4.
Blues arrival at Damson Park comes just three days after returning from their historic tour of China.
Moors director Trevor Stevens said: “We’re expecting Blues to bring a decent side - especially as they got in touch with us and asked for the fixture.
“I know Doncaster also asked us for a fixture as well.”
Stevens believes the requests are testimony to the playing surface at Damson Park, reckoned by many to be the best in non-League football and a tribute to their award-winning groundsman Peter Allen.
Birmingham City will continue using Damson Park this coming season, although less frequently than in the past.
Stevens added: “Blues used our ground for their reserve team games - but many clubs are cutting back in this department and Blues have indicated they will be playing some of these games at their Wast Hills training ground.
“However they will still use our ground for Birmingham Senior Cup and FA Youth Cup games.”
In the meantime Moors manager Bob Faulkner is on the lookout for an assistant as former Cheltenham Town player Jerry Gill has joined Bristol Rovers as their youth team coach.
l Moors are offering a cut price pre-season ticket of just £20 to watch all five of their friendly games.
Alternatively admission to each game will be £6 with concessions.
