The Solihull Secondary School’s inter-schools football cup competitions reached their climax last week with five finals taking place.
The U12 final between St. Peter’s Catholic School and Tudor Grange saw the former run out 4 – 2 winners in what was a great spectacle. In the U13 final Lyndon School triumph 8–1 against a skilful Light Hall side. The U14 final was the pick of the five with Coleshill and Lyndon three apiece after normal time, the match went into extra-time with Coleshill eventually winning 5–3.
The U15 final saw Light Hall upset the odds by defeating the much fancied CTC Kingshurst Academy 2 – 1.
In the U16 final between Coleshill and Park Hall, Coleshill stormed back from 2-0 down to make it 3-3 with the game finally decided on penalties with Coleshill eventually becoming Solihull Champions.
