A Basketball academy first

SOLIHULL College has set up its first ever Basketball academy.

SOLIHULL College has set up its first ever Basketball academy.

More and more students have been taking an interest in the sport, and the college has decided to give them somewhere to hone their hoop-shooting skills.

The academy will be run by Steven Mroso, a former player with the British Basketball League.

Steven said: “In recent years there’s been a surge of interest in Basketball locally, which is why I’ve been in talks with the college to lead the coaching of this new development school.

“The course caters for mixed abilities, so I’m not expecting anyone to slam dunk a ball from one end of the court to the other, as this course is about untapped potential. It’s about finding your strengths, developing your skills, and appreciating the importance of balance in the game.”

The programme will begin on September 7. To find out more call 0121 678 7000 or visit www.solihull.ac.uk.
