Desi 1 - 4 Silhill (2nds)

LOOKING to avenge a 5-1 thrashing in the Senior Cup, Silhill’s response didn’t start well after they leaked a goal after 11 minutes.

Capitalising on a slick build-up, Tomlinson hammered in the 1-1 equaliser from eight yards, midway through the first half.

When Keith Conway was scythed down on the hour, Karim hit the spot kick for a 2-1 lead. Nine minutes elapsed before Graham shot in clinically at the back post. Then, in the 82nd minute, McInnes met the Desi keeper’s clearance near the touchline, launching a howitzer first-time into the top right corner of his net.

Silhill (4ths) 2 - 5 Bentley Heath United

SILHILL’S man-of-the-match goalkeeper Chris Flowers produced some excellent saves to keep the game at 0-0 at the break.

Nevertheless, visitors Bentley Heath stormed out for the second half with far greater resolve and so took their chances better, racing from 0-0 to 4-0 in a 13-minute purple patch. Silhill’s Joe Titley and Adam Holland scored the consolation goals for the home team.
