MOSELEY’S first league win this season saw them hammer Smethwick after hitting 306 for five in the Birmingham and District Premier League.
Warwickshire’s Laurie Evans get the top score of 131 while youngster Aadam Din showed great maturity to register an unbeaten 103, his maiden league century.
Mo Sheikh finished with 79 not out but the rest of the batting collapsed around him, due to an inspired spell of quick bowling from Ricardo Gordon (7 for 36), the young West Indies fast bowler.
Captain Adbul Hafeez said: “The guys batted very well and then we bowled them out for 170.
“We really did hammer them, especially without Fred Eburah, our leading bowler, and Huw Jones.”
Moseley play Leamington tomorrow (Saturday) and Shrewsbury on Monday.
“The win against Smethwick is a good confidence boost for us,” Hafeez said. “We deserved that last win, we worked hard.
“Leamington and Shrewsbury are both decent sides and we are not going to take either of them lightly. I’ll ask for 110 per cent and we’ll get what we put in and continue that good form.”
