THE current wet and windy conditions are not ideal for Solihull Cycling Club’s Time Trialists but the Thursday Open 10 was run as usual. Alastair McChesney rode the fastest time of 22-51, with Will Bamber of Birmingham University a 24-02 and Colin Williamson a 24-45. At the TM 10 on the same night, Steve Jenks clocked a 25-39.

The big TT event of the weekend was the Echelon VTTA, which ran over the two days, with a 10 mile TT on Saturday and a 25mile TT on Sunday, both on the K33 course out of Salford Priors.

The quickest combined time for our club’s riders was Eddy Priddy with 1hr 20mins 1sec (a 22-12 and a 57-49). Richard Eason’s time of 1-20-02 (a 22-33 and a 57-29) was impressively close and Andrew Simpkins finished with a 1-25-38.

At the Halesowen Road Race, on Sunday, Conor O’Brien instigated an early break of six riders that was never caught, thanks to some good sacrificial riding. At the finish Conor took fifth place from the break.
