SOLIHULL Arden Ladies squash team collected a maximum 20 points when they travelled to play a somewhat depleted Barnt Green team.
Without their regular second and fourth strings, Barnt Green played their highly regarded junior, the 11-year-old Kiera Marshall at number three, the experienced Bett Dryhurst at two and Dawn Ashford at number one.
Kiera lost 0-3 to Arden’s Lyndsey Vickers but it was easy to see why she is so highly regarded.
Second strings Jane Armstrong and Bett Dryhurst contested a good match with Jane winning through 3-1.
Playing at number one for Arden was Ann Frew. Ann and Dawn have had some momentous battles in the past and their first one here was a big and important game.
Almost inevitably it went to a tie break and it was Ann who maintained the pressure to edge it, eventually going on to win 3-1.
So, Solihull Arden have secured their second place position in the league.
West Warks are clear at the top and for Arden to pass them, they need to maximum points from their final fixture against Egbaston Priory and hope West Warks drop more than eight to Leamington.
