Non-playing Captain Neville Ogden was there to see Solihull Marsh Lane bowling club win their quarter final match in the Consolation Cup of the Heart of England League against Hall Green.

Roy Dixon won 21 - 5 Ken Frost won 21 -8 and Roger Beavis 21 – 10. For Hall Green Des Paisley beat Noel Brennan 21 -11.

On Wednesday in the East Birmingham League, Captain Margaret Beavis was delighted to chalk up the first away win of the season at Hollyfields. Good cards off Fergus 21 -6, Margaret 21 -9 and Roger 21 -12 saw them win 110 shots to 90.

On Friday, in the Heart of England match against Stoke Prior, Marsh Lane chalked up another win, this time by 40 shots. Margaret winning 21 -3 and Fergus Allison who was 10 – 1 up when he lost the jack fought back to win 21 - 13 as did Yvonne Ogden who fought back from 13 -19 down to win 21 – 19. A great week for the Solihull Marsh Lane bowlers.
