Solihull & Shirley Badminton Club produced their first clean sweep of the year in the Birmingham League on Saturday.
The Ladies’ first team continued their push for promotion to the first division with a 4-2 victory in a difficult away fixture against Holy Trinity.
Debutant Hayley Kennedy teamed up with Jude Warrington, Jayne Clarke and Katie Johnson in the ladies’ thirds for a nail-biting finish against Four Oaks in the third division.
The Ladies won 9-7 on games after the match finished three apiece on rubbers.
The men’s first team notched up another win in the first division with a surprisingly easy 8-1 victory over Birmingham University.
The pairings of John Hudson and John Fletcher and Andrew Wainwright and Paul Harris finished the match undefeated.
In the Solihull League, the combined first team continued their unbeaten run in the first division.
Disappointingly it wasn’t such good news elsewhere in the league.
The combined second team lost 5-1 against Pajamas in the same division.
The men’s second and third teams were also defeated with the second team losing 5-1 to David Lloyd first in the second division and the third team losing 6-0 against UBMS in the third division.
