RENAULT Solihull Barons avenged their Saturday defeat to Newcastle (3-1) by beating Sutton the day after.

RENAULT Solihull Barons avenged their Saturday defeat to Newcastle (3-1) by beating Sutton the day after.

In front of a crowd of over 700, the Barons did not get the start they wanted as they went a goal down early in the first period.

Although they threatened the Sutton goal, Solihull had to wait until just before the end of the period, when Phil Lee used all of his experience to score the equaliser.

The second period was dominated by the Barons and goals from Adams and Ayers (2) gave them a 4-1 lead, before Ayers completed his hat trick in the final period (5-1 final score).
