Golfing celebrities and pros got into the swing at the Farmfoods’ British Par 3 Championship at Nailcote Hall last week.
Sir Alex Ferguson, Jasper Carrott, Brendan Cole, Jimmy Tarbuck, William Roache, and Peter Schmeichel were among the stars taking part in the fun event.
In the celebrity team event, ‘Bookatz,’ with local comedian Jasper Carrott, took the honours with a score of 83 points.
In the individual celebrity standing, the star host, Tony Jacklin (he won The Open Championship 40 years ago) came second, followed by England cricket legend Brian Close, and last year’s defending champion, Aston Villa European Cup winning star, Gary Shaw.
The main Pro-Am event saw Steve Carter set the tournament alight with his first round of 50 (four under par), and then hold onto his lead into the second day to win overall.
