Lichfield 58 Camp Hill 10
AFTER three successive wins against Lichfield, Camp Hill’s run came to a spectacular end at Cooke Fields last Saturday in the Midlands Division One West.
It was evident from the start that the hosts were intent on running everything through the backs who duly notched up five first half tries with full back Greg Masse converting two.
An 11th minute penalty from centre Ian Briggs was soon followed by a break from fly half Alex Richmond which was held up short before he fed No. 8 Rob Hill who ran in his fifth try of the season.
Briggs added the extras for 10 - 10 but the remainder of the half saw them very much on the back foot to turn round at 10-29.
After the re-start, Camps’ gallant defence buckled as Lichfield ran in a further five scores with left wing Brad Rowlands adding two more conversions.
On Saturday, Camp Hill will need a big improvement when Burton are the vistors to the “Shrine”. Kick off is at 2.15pm.
