TWO Solihull swimming clubs had some fine results, including many personal bests, at the Boldmere Junior Invitation Meet at Stechford Cascades last Saturday.

Blythe Barracudas recorded some outstanding times, and Fox Hollies took the title of Best Visiting Club for the second year running.

Fox Hollies’ team of 26 boys and girls finished with a resounding 213 points.

Blythe swimmers recorded 31 personal bests, with eight-year-old Charlotte Rigg coming first in the 25m backstroke in a personal best time, and second in her 25m freestyle event. This in a field of over 20 swimmers for each event.

Jack Wilson took second place overall in the 11 years 50m breaststroke event in a new personal best time.

Ten-year-old Frances Austin achieved five personal best times in all her events, and Benjamin Davis, also ten, recorded three personal bests over the day.

Blythe swimmers also achieved successes at the previous week’s Junior Trophy Gala at Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, including (pictured) sisters Lily Graham, aged nine, winning her 25m butterfly and freestyle, and Emily, aged 12, winnning the 50m butterfly and backstroke in personal best times.
